The Sounds of War

General Vlace entered the compound with his head held high, followed by his closest aids, hand picked and they knew what was at stake. Today was going to make history. For better of for worse they would be remembered by the world and their nation. Time to make a good impression.

Vlace was in the Fire Army's General Gear, only stopping by his house only to grab things he needed for the upcoming war.

Vlace moves into the compound with the commanding air he is known to possess and stands in front of the Fire Army.

"Tommorow... Tommorow is when history will be made. Tommorow our names will be entered next to the greates our nation... Our world has ever seen. Tommorow there shall be blood shed, and we will be praised for it. Tommorow shall be the day that we find out what the fire nation is made of! Tommorow... Tommorow is the day!

Men, join with me! Join with me in this conquest for the nation. The nation that the entire world will watch and know. Let them say without a doubt in their mind that they have seen the greatest this nation has ever been. Let them say that this is the greatest nation that has ever set forth in this world.

We are on the brink of the most monumental points of history since the fall of Ozai and the rise of Zuko and Iroh. We are here to avenge the name of the great people in our past and the shame we have born since then! We need to redeem our name! We need to redeem our lord. We need to redeem our nation!

Let us not falter at this moment! Let us not scare in this time! We need to back each other through the thick and thin through the right and the wrong. We need to be remembered as the people of today and the path of the future. Men look inside yourselves now and draw upon the greatest strength and sense of pride and follow me! Follow me men from our mission in today to our destiny in tomorrow!"

As the cheers rose he knew that they were going to follow him to the ends of the earth and that, he knew, was there might have to go to win this war. Tommorow the North Pole burns.

Kaero looked up from his seat behind Vlace. He had listened to the whole loyalist patriotic bull spewed from his mouth. This guy was a class A typical Fire nation general. Inspiring to the mindless masses, just the man needed as the paragon of Fire nation society. I just can't wait to get to work for him. As if anyone's brave, or stupid enough to take on a fire nation general directly. My job might as well be to guard that pipe over there, i might get more action that way.

Two of Kaero's Outlanders were sitting beside him, one on each side. He spoke to each one briefly and silently, checking on their situations. Kaero then turned back to the general. As he finished his speech the crowd erupted in cheers. Typical Fire nation. Kaero and his Outlanders clapped slowly, but did not cheer. They remained quiet through the rest of the crowd's elations. He spoke in a friendly tone to Vlace. "Very well done General. You inspire us all." God, that nearly made me sick.

Vlace, after another sleepless night of planning and scheming on how best to attack and implement his strategy. He could feel the pressure building in his eyes and he knew he was losing his intimidating edge. He told his other captains that were going to be with him during the battle that he needed to go get sleep so he could focus on the task at hand. He walks back home with Kaero trailing behind him and he dismisses him to go do what ever he wanted. Something that most generals would have never done.

He walks into his house and walks into his room and stops short. On his bed layed out, is armor that is strangely familiar. His heart speeds up and his throat starts to close up as the chocking feeling starts to close itself upon him. He tries to calm himself down but to no avail and so he continues forward. One foot in front of the other bringing himself to the foot of the bed.

A note is attached and he picks it up with shaking hands and on it is the familiar hand writing of the fire lord. "This is the armor your father was wearing when he got murdered. May it bring you better fortune then it did for him. Fire Lord Lei." Vlace dropped the note and it fell to the ground, and he picked up the armor and turned it over feeling the grooves. He looks and sees three repair patches of newer looking metal and one of them was over the heart. The rumor was that he sacrificied himself in an attempt to save his wife. If only it had worked. Vlace, looking at the armor, knew that his father would be proud of him, following in his footsteps and becoming the same thing he was when he was alive. A general of the Fire Nation Army.

With a new reinforced sense of his destiny and what he was suppossed to do, he puts the armor down, feeling rejuvinated and well, he walks slowly out to the garden sits down in the middle and starts to meditate.

Kaero sent his two Outlanders to follow Vlace after he left the compound while he went speak with his sergeant in another section of the base. On arrival he spoke to the sergeant for a while briefing him on the situation, and the Outlander's deployment plan. He then turned to his men and women "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a contract to fulfill. The general will be deploying his forces today, and we need to be right there beside him. "

The Outlanders prepared themselves with extreme haste. Their battle garb and weapons were on and ready in moments, Kaero then gave them the order to be on call, as they could be moving out at any givin moment. "We're representing the Naoru nation here. " He then left to meet with Vlace at his quarters. After a short walk, he met with the two that he tasked to guard the genral. "At ease, you've done well" He waited outside for Vlace, leaning against the wall oposite to the door.
